Description:

Handles full range of Financial Maintenance transactions related to the service center credit business. This includes customer account investigation and analyses; payment analysis, adjustments, and refunds; payment reconciliations; evaluating requests from customers; maintaining and updating numerous reports; and contacting banks, customers, municipalities, and other sources for information. Must be able to quickly review and identify numerous types of transactions and requests and choose appropriate process steps to take to handle the matters. Requires discretion at some points to choose action steps depending on the evaluation of issue severity, account histories, and department precedents and parameters. Job Responsibilities: Identify, record, and deposit all payments received through PSC/LSC and lockbox locations for application to proper customer and G/L account. Reconcile daily payment exceptions for application to proper account or G/L. Process payments via spreadsheet applications. Process payoffs via spreadsheet applications and ensure follow-up for account closure as needed. Perform account maintenance utilizing restricted access online entry as assigned. Communicate via e-mail, telephone, and mail correspondence for processing and/or follow-up for necessary processing of all payments/reversals and related issues with customers, vendors, financial institutions, and all personnel. Research and resolve account tax and payment errors. Recognizes data and program inconsistencies and assists in the resolution through department management and Information Technology. Recommends program and work process improvements. Investigate and initiate overpayment refunds. Perform variety of clerical tasks to achieve department goals. Education: High school diploma or GED-Required, Bachelors Degree (accounting/finance coursework preferred)-Desired. Competencies: Collaboration, Customer focus, Process orientation, Results driven. Experience: Experience in financial, banking or lockbox environment which required great attention to detail. Proficiency in Excel. 1-2 years in consumer finance, preferably automotive.
